'No Swimming!' Shark Cupcakes

My son will be turning five on the holidays, so we made some cupcakes to take to Prep and share with his class last week. The shark and fins are fondant icing and Willy's favourite cake is chocolate mud so that's what they were and we also had to make some vanilla ones and some without icing so he had everyone covered (sheeesh!)

William was very excited  to take these!  I can't believe he will be five years old tomorrow, we had family around on the weekend to celebrate...he chose a  'Mario Bros' themed cake and we made some cool ticket style invitations, I will share all the details in the coming days.
Have a great day!

'Winnie the Pooh' ~ First Birthday Cake

Over the weekend I created this 'Pooh Bear' themed cake for a little boy's first birthday
celebration in Clifton.

I made an icing picnic rug with a fringed edge to sit these tiny little cupcakes on that I also modelled from fondant icing.

I really liked how these little bees turned out, they were so tiny!

The sign is chocolate fondant and the message is painted on with black food colouring. Inside is butter cake with vanilla cream icing.

I think this could also make for a cute christening/baptism/naming day cake...if your a Pooh Bear fan.

'Happy First Birthday' Declan!

'Cars 2' {Inspired} Birthday Cake

This very boyish 'cars' cake was given the 'thumbs up' by my own four year old son {always a good sign :) }  I tend to be a bit indecisive with the boy designs, I find it alot easier to come up with  designs for girls!

I used a store bought Lightening McQueen as the topper...

the name banner is made with yellow and black fondant,

which I attached to the bottom cake with a little bit of sugar glue.

Inside is chocolate mud cake!

We hope you had a fun day Oliver and a very
'Happy Birthday!'

Pink Handbag ~ '60th' Birthday Cake

Over the weekend I made this 'pink handbag' cake for a 60th birthday celebration.  The request for this one was different shades of pink with a bit of green and gold rather than silver.

Everything was edible, including these gold studs.  I used a stitching tool to make the 'stitched' pattern on the straps and the outside fondant was embossed with a pattern which you can see quite well in this picture.

This zipper was on the back of the bag and a bigger one the same on top of the bag.

Inside was double layer chocolate mud cake, we delivered this one to Westbrook.

Here is the back view, thanks Bec and Kelli ...I hope your Mum had a very
Happy 60th Birthday!
